Ghana

| Action for Rural Education
(ARE) worked in communities in cocoa growing districts,
who faced particular education challenges due to their
remote location. CEF, supported by the Cadbury Schweppes
Foundation, funded ARE to help communities by: strengthening
school-community links and help local people take action
on education issues - e.g. to advocate for increased teacher
training and deployment of trained teachers to underserved
communities, and to promote transparency and accountability
through budget tracking at the local level. For more information
