CEF Managing Agencies
The Commonwealth Education Fund (CEF) was an innovative partnership funded jointly by government and industry, and delivered by three of the world's leading aid and development organisations -- ActionAid, Oxfam and Save the Children.
   
    CEF and the British Government
The CEF was formally accountable to the British Government through the Department for International Development (DFID). The CEF International Secretariat reported semi-annually to DFID.

Education for All - Class of 2015
The Class of 2015 is a new joint effort to accelerate progress to getting everyone an education by 2015, and meeting the globally agreed education goals. The Class of 2015 is made up of the GCE, some of the world's leading charities, major multi-national companies, supportive governments, senior education advocates, teacher trade unions through Education International, major faith leaders and other important supporters of EFA including FIFA, the world football federation, Bono and Sir Bob Geldof.


   
    Global Campaign for Education
CEF supported the work of the Global Campaign for Education (GCE), including the Global Action Week every April. Education materials can be found on the GCE Resources page.

Institute for Democracy in South Africa (Idasa)

Idasa is an independent public interest organisation committed to promoting sustainable democracy based on active citizenship, democratic institutions, and social justice. It is a nationally recognised public interest organisation in South Africa that maintains international links with many similar organisations through the world movement for democracy. Idasa worked with CEF on documentation of CEF partners' budget work.

    Reflect
Reflect is a innovative approach to adult learning and social change which fuses the theories of Paulo Freire with the methodology of participatory rural appraisal. It is used by over 350 organisations in more than 60 countries as an approach to adult learning and social change.
   
   
Right to Education Project
The Right to Education Project aims to promote social mobilisation and legal accountability, looking to focus on the legal challenges to the right to education. The cornerstone of the Project is this wide-reaching website on education rights, a partial continuation of the groundbreaking website (under the same address) of the former UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education, Katarina Tomaševski. The Project also undertakes comparative research to advance an understanding of the right to education.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is the UN's specialised agency for education. The website provides important information, including the Education For All (EFA) Global Monitoring Report.
